Terms and Conditions

1. Quotations and Acceptance

1.1 All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. A contract is formed when you accept the quotation verbally, in writing, or by allowing work to commence.

2. Deposit

2.1 Projects valued £1000 and over require a deposit of 25%, payable 7 days before agreed start date. Work will not be scheduled until the deposit is received.

2.2 Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has been scheduled, except where cancellation is due to our fault.

3. Scope of Works

3.1 Only the works specifically described in the quotation are included.

3.2 Existing wiring and installations are excluded unless stated.

3.3 Making good (plastering, decorating, boxing-in, etc.) is excluded unless expressly included above.

3.4 Disposal of waste is excluded unless expressly included above.

4. Access and Client Responsibilities

4.1 The client must provide safe, clear, and uninterrupted access to the site at the agreed time.

4.2 Volta Electrical are not responsible for delays or additional costs caused by restricted access, other trades, or site conditions outside our control.

4.3 If we attend site and cannot proceed due to access issues, a call-out charge of £75.00 will apply.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

5.1 At least 36 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.

5.2 Cancellations with less than 36 hours’ notice may be charged 50% of the labour cost.

5.3 Deposits may be retained to cover lost time and costs where applicable.

6. Variations and Additional Works

6.1 Any changes to the agreed scope must be approved before work proceeds.

6.2 Variations and additional works will be charged at the agreed rate or our standard hourly rate of £50.00.

6.3 Where unsafe or non-compliant issues are discovered, we will advise before proceeding, where reasonably possible.

7. Payment Terms

7.1 Payment is due within 7 days of completion. Where full payment is made within 2 days of completion a Prompt Payment Discount of 5% will be applied, as stated on the invoice.

7.2 Payment should be made by BACS or in cash.

7.3 Late payments will be charged statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

7.4 Ownership of supplied materials remains with us until paid in full.

8. Standards and Certification

8.1 All work is carried out with reasonable skill and care and in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) where applicable.

8.2 Any certification issued applies only to the work carried out, not the entire installation unless stated.
